Tervfect.net is down for today in protestation of the PIPA (Protect IP Act) and SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Now) acts about to go before congress.
Other well known sites are also protesting the passing of these bills which would severely censor our free access to data on the internet.
Please See Wikipedia.com for easy access to your local congressmen and women to take an ACTIVE role in protesting these acts.
In a nutshell, the PIPA and SOPA would put the burden of copyright infringing material on websites up to us, the website owners, and let other possibly competing websites blacklist "Infringing" sites. Very large and helpful sites such as Wikipedia will not be able to survive such censorship by big business and competing industry and will cease to exist if we the public do not speak out against such censorship. These bills are written by big business for big business and nothing else. Do Not Watch Your Internet Die, Speak Out Now!
